The name BruinoTM itself pays homage to the ancient Fair of Bruino which was held in the area of Camurana in Medolla back in medieval times. This location was perfect for commercial and cultural activity at different points in the year because it is the point where waterways and roads linked Bologna first to Verona, and then as far as Venice. The fair took place in a specific area of the town on the basis of clear pre-established rules, such as the fact that the official start of the fair was marked by the hoisting of a weathervane on a tower specifically created for the purpose: from that moment, the commercial activity could start. These markets continued throughout the centuries, favoured by the richness of the agricultural products of Emilia and its local production, and were open to all, so creating the perfect circumstances for commercial activity, and and cultural exchange, such as public and local holidays.
